All of us at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are profoundly saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague, David G. Meadows Jr., who faithfully served as a Correction Officer in our detention facility. David passed away on Friday, leaving behind a legacy defined by service, integrity, and compassion. Our thoughts and prayers go out to David, his mother Jennifer, his sisters Samantha, Rebecka, and Jenneta, his fiancée Logan, and all who loved him. May God grant him eternal peace and provide comfort and strength to his family during this difficult time.
David was more than a coworker; he was a respected member of our team and a trusted friend. He carried himself with professionalism and quiet strength, earning the admiration of all who worked alongside him. His dedication to his role and to the safety of others reflected his unwavering sense of duty and character.
Born on January 28, 1997, David lived a life marked by love, loyalty, and authenticity. He shared a deep and meaningful bond with his fiancée, Logan, and looked forward to the future they were building together—a life filled with laughter, understanding, and joy.
Throughout his career in Lake County, Ohio, David served with pride and distinction. As a member of the SWAT team, he demonstrated courage, discipline, and a readiness to step forward whenever his community needed him most. His commitment to service was evident in everything he did.
Outside of work, David found joy in simple pleasures, including playing Magic: The Gathering with friends and forming a natural connection with dogs, reflecting his kind-hearted and gentle nature.
David will be remembered for his humor, sincerity, and ability to make everyone feel at ease. He leaves behind his fiancée Logan Kyle, mother Jennifer Meadows, stepfather James Giles, sisters Samantha Boss, Rebecka Marotta, and Jenneta Marotta, brother-in-law Robert Boss, and many friends, coworkers, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, David G. Meadows Sr.
David’s spirit, loyalty, and warmth will be forever cherished by all who knew him.
