Atlanta police are investigating a deadly triple shooting at an Atlantic Station apartment that left a 23-year-old man dead and two others injured.

Officers were called to the 200 block of 18th Street NW just before 6 p.m. Monday following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found three people with gunshot wounds inside the apartment. A 32-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were both shot in the arm and taken to a nearby hospital, where they are expected to survive.

The 23-year-old man was shot in the chest and transported in critical condition to the hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released his name pending notification of next of kin.

One bullet passed through a wall into an adjacent, vacant apartment. Atlanta Police Department homicide detectives spent the evening canvassing the area for witnesses, surveillance footage, and other evidence.

Police have not disclosed a motive, the relationship between the victims, or whether the shooting was targeted. It is also unclear if a suspect has been identified or if the shooter fled on foot or by vehicle.

Authorities are asking anyone with information or video from the scene to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
